|
|
|
Hello all, I have been browsing this very informative forum for a while, and can see that a few members have built NCF Blitz Buggies based on the Samurai and the Vitara models.
My question is - before I splash my hard-earned pennies out - what are your experiences when it came to re-registering the vehicle? The build manual says it is simply a matter of changing the body type on the V5 document, as the chassis is kept as Suzuki intended, so therefore an SVA is not needed?
I just wanted to hear other peoples experiences before taking the plunge.
Thanks in anticipation.

each major component is assigned various "points" by vosa..
acrew enough points, and you need an SVA.. (should need an SVA)..
changing the body type is not enough on its own ans the chassis, drivetrain, and suspension are all standard..
i would, however just give your local Vosa office a ring to be 100% sure, as i know that what some want, others dont etc etc.. and

With a Blitz you don't need to modify the chassis so if you build it up with all the stock parts there is no issue with changing the body style, it doesn't need to be re-registered. If you change a lot of parts and modify the chassis then you will need SVA but you will only need to modify the chassis if you need MSA approval.
The Outbak I have no experience of but I think its the same as it uses the Vit chasss and running gear.

Just got back from collecting the Outbak kit from "Vitara-Mad", just wanted to say - as this forum doesn't (appear to) have a feedback / karma / thanks option - Many THANKS as there was more there than expected - Soft-Top, Doors, BullBar and a rear Kiddie-Saver hoop to make it a 4-seater.
Many thanks to "Vitara-Mad"

Look forward to seeing the build...
Had intended to build one but while hunting for a doner vehicle found a superbly built one that we couldn't refuse!
Great fun and goes well
Shout if you think I can provide any help

No issues with registration - mine was a simple body type change from 4 seat estate to 2 seat utility.
BTW, nice job of avoiding being Moderated there - note for the future, please use the free classifieds
Start a build thread .... you know you want to!
