I noticed i have a light brown/red oil all over the front drivers side C.V boots, the leak seems to be coming from above the C.V boot area and is all across the bottom of the front X member and radiator bottom,. could this be fluid from the 4x4 hydraulic system?
any info would be apreciated as got over 1000 miles to cover next week
Thanks

Is it an automatic gearbox and this is Transmission Fluid leaking at the oil cooler?

power steering fluid, only thing with hydraulic fluid that close to the front drivers side CV, unless its running down the shafts, but then it wouldnt be near the radiator..
i would check the power steering pump, its in the front of the engine, right above where you are describing the problems..

I'd also wager Auto fluid from the rad cooler.

I checked through some of your old posts and read (can only drive an auto).
So the guys may well be correct looking at the info in the manual.
I had no idea the AT gearbox had a cooler built into the radiator .

Hi
Have just been under the car and it is leaking from the oil cooler pipes.
Are these expensive/difficult to replace?
Iv had to shell out nearly £200 pound to hire a car for the week, its typical the one week i REALLY need a car it breaks, lol!
oh well, ill forgive it, if it wasnt for the 4x4 i wouldnt have made it back through Norfolk in all the snow!
Thanks for advice and info!
