Has the MSA Changed its helmets regs. Do all helmets have to be Snell?

AFAIK BS6658 is still valid until at least 31/12/15. Probably worth considering a SNELL 2005 or 2010 if you are buying new.

Mine is Snell 2010 but I was asked the question by a Scotia Winch entrant.
Cheers

I've checked the Blue Book and it appears I'm correct. K10.3.1 refers

Thanks
Helmets are not required by the MSA for our events (not speed events) but have been made compulsory by us for about 4 years.
I know of at least 4 people who have been saved a trip to hospital or worse by using them!

I was actually having a conversation regarding this recently. Bear in mind if you specify any safety equipment in your SRs, even if not required by MSA, then it must comply the relevant MSA regs.

indeed, thus our requirement that the helmets must meet MSA Snell 2010 standards.
Its a shame we cant allow motorcycle trials helmets - much more suited to our needs and much cheaper.
