Get a sumo bar track-rod, as they like OE ones a lot
The front hockey-sticks (radious arms) are good and strong and act as an anti roll bar through the bushes. I can flex that front axel due to weight (1800kg) which may not be possible with a lighter truck? If I was starting from scratch, I would look hard at full 4 link. You have a load of fabrication work to do, so maybe the extra bit is worth it?
Might as well do the swivel seals while it is off.
(loads of bits available for a popular axel)
The back axel is pretty good with that top ball. The A frame anchor points will need to be strong though, as it does a lot of force.
The breather is vulnerable when tying down to the trailer. I welded a 1/4" fitting to the diff pumpkin top instead.
I say the axels are weak as I have a V8 on the front, but given the smaller engine they should serve you really well
As a total guess I would think Vit coils? I see folks save time by getting brackets and mounts cut off old chassis.
We are going to need to see photo's of it's build

i did look at 4 link up front but the engine sits to low in the chassis so there is little room for the top links, ive moded the rear a arm on the vitara and i have had the axle on looks good plenty of flex but way to much drop IF BOTH sides let hang the rear prop binds so i will be fitting a limit strap to solve this. I also done the steering bar from the pas box to the axle and will prob do the same for the track bar to did some of them come with a bracket on the bottom of the front diff that the track bar runs past.
sorry for the thread hi jak

I’ve made new perches for the springs on the front chassis that incorporate the pan hard on the drivers side not touched the front axle in any way used the std defender front radius arms welded mounts to the chassis, the rear I’ve cut all the tabs off except the A arm mount used the std vit A arm but modded it made it stronger and now has a 3/4 rose joint at the axle end made new spring seats for the axle to tie in with the vit spring perches on the chassis used the vit arms but sleeved them up.
next thing on the list is high angle props as the landy ones wont give enough.

Sus i saw your truck loaded up yesterday was having a look at the front axle conversion, I was in the purple daihatsu terios, looks like a nice bit of kit, might be worth getting that mount braced aswell as theres alot of pressure put on it, hope you have it done for yarwell I would like to see how it performs.

small world remember seeing your terios, after it broke i carried on as a passenger in with the Cherokee boys !!
i have dropped my vit off with a friend who works on heavy trucks, he will do a proper job on it, i lost front drive as well so need to strip it down to see what i need, hoping to get it sorted for yarwell, tixover is epic i loved it there

Both good sites, cant do much at tixover with standard suspension on the terios, astra mk2 rear shocks on it and we will be sorted.
As far as landy axle conversion I was going to do it to an sj but never got round to it, i was going to 1 link the front and use longer johny jointed arms for the rear but keep the std landy a frame, for springs i was going to use lorry trailer airbags, I found some that would pump to 800mm and was going to set it up using 4 solinoids so i could force the wheels down when articulating so you always have a wheel on the floor. also using air you can jack the back up up steap climbs to stop it flipping and the oposite for down hills or side slopes. Maybe the terios might end up with this setup when the mrs ent looking

ive removed the steering stop bolts from the vit steering box but still can't get nowhere near enough steering nowhere near the steering stops on the landy axles when its fully locked over
i can't extend the pitman arm due to the panhard rod so planning on shortening the arm on the wheel hub & hope that works
anyone got any pics of there landy axle setup on a vit ???

If you get 10 spline axles you can put series diffs in

Think you can just ring and pinion best to check on the landy side but im sure ive read threads where people have just ring and pinion them
