Hi guys, just looked at a w reg 2.5 petrol and like it, but doing a bit of research lots of people say avoid it as underpowered and only slightly better on juice than the 4.0 , is that true? And I'm guessing the wranglers have the same engine, but nobody moans about the power on those 2.5s

Please help as I don't want to be buying a pig

If you drive it and like it thats the main thing.

If you want to go bigger tyres though, it might struggle.

As stock the power with out the auto box on the 4l makes them similar as the auto is very ineficient but the torque of the 4l pays when tyre size goes up.

I did look at a 2.5 wrangler...........it dont seem right having to rev it that much and made noise but didnt go alot faster.

so long as you don't want to tow anything heavy, not too bad with manual box
