I have a pair of BOGS which are superb and I've just been sent a pair of Norwegian GiCAs boots which again appear decent, but I'm wondering what else is out there that you guys respect. MuckBoots, etc?

Grubs Snowline 8.5.
More or less lived in them since I got them. Now I tend to wear them in preference to walking boots for most things -- including beating in the roughest, boggiest parts of Dales and missing persons searches. Winter boot of choice.
Can easily wear them for all day tramping over the Fells in all weather.
Comfortable, warm and waterproof with proper Vibram sole

I use my wellies for mine exploring as well. Bought them 7 years ago, and still they are as good as new.
They also have steel toecaps.
They cost me £12.50 from the local farm supplies shop.

I've switched from wellies to Etche canyoning boots for caving - SRT work is less tiring without wellies full of water.

I've been wearing the same pair of muck boots for about 3 years. Had to do a few patches on the neoprene part but apart from that they have worn well. Like the look of those Grub boots though.

I wear muck boots too.never had cold feet and had them for 4years most days even in the snow of the last few years round horses beating and walking hounds.
Will have to replace soon as even with the blakys the sole is getting a bit worn and will replace them with the same.i have had hunter and all the other posh ones none lasted this long and most were bloody cold i the winter.

Aigle wellies for me Not cheap, but the comfiest and warmest (4.5mm neoprene lining!) I've ever owned. Spend all day in them, no probs. Got mine from Mole valley Farmers:

Agree with comment on Hunter wellies. The Mrs got a pair about a year ago and they've a split seam and are leaking already. Posh name, poor show. I've a pair of old Barbour ones too, which have lasted five years and don't leak, but are ruddy cold and don't have any grip left!

Snow boots.
They cost a shed load less than a lot of designer Kensington Welles, are water proof, are warm, have good grips, laces, err, furry, errr
We stopped buying Welles for the littleun years ago, why would you subject anyone to the pain of those horrible rubber things.
