Hi Guys, Im new to this and hoped someone might help me.
I am currently swapping bits off a scrapper onto to my 96 Sportrak. As I have just snapped one of my rear leaf springs it was the perfect chance to use the heavy duty 3 leafers that were on the scrapper. I want to try and use my adjustable shockers still but they are too short. I have been told that I should be able to get some king of extender that can be added to the shock or mount so that it can fit properly but know one I have spoken to seems to know anything about it. Any ideas how I can get around it. If not I will just have to use the non adjuster on the scrapper I guess but hoped to avoid that.
Thanks

I don't advise using spacers, if the shock is too short I would use the ones off the scrapper. However if the leafs are jacking it up that much I would guess they may be very hard and the ride will suffer!
Do your adjustable shockers still work, most have seized up by now and turning the dial does nothing...?

Thanks for replying. Amazingly they still work. I make sure I use them often just so they keep moving. I drove the scrapper before I started to break it and it was fairly stiff, more so than my one but not too bad. I suppose you would expect the 3 leafs to be fairly stiff.
I am not doing any comps just really muddy feilds. Do you think the standard non adjusters will be ok.

Long as they aren't leaking etc, they will be fine.

Nice sporty by the way. What size are your tyres and what make did you go for. Have you had any issues with the CV's with lifting the body?

Cheers, they are 31x10.5 Trekkers (same as Special Track), no problems with the CV's I only have a torsion and spring lift on the chassis, the body also has a 2" lift but this doesn't affect the CV's.

Did you need the extra body lift to clear the tyres or was the spring lift and torsion jobby enough???

Needed the bodylift, they would rub badly otherwise, unless you wanted to chop away your arches..
