Can any one tell me why Volvo used two different manifolds on the exhaust separate flange , joined flange as I have both ? And will it make a difference if I Change the exit pipe length from exiting on left to the right ?

I have no idea but most heavy commercial 6 cylinder manifolds are also split. Maybe something to do with thermal expansion?

Yes I would agree as when the vehicles were crawled over by Swedish army reme they were chopped and changed as parts got broken or rusty . I would of expected at least one exhaust change since 1975 in service . I'm going to change the direction and length of the exit pipe when the new one arrives next week. There seems to be only 3 people on this forum .lots and lots of voyeurs .
