Thought I would start a thread and post my experience of running svo in my L200 so anyone else wanting to try has something to read at. The truck is a 54 plate warrior and has 73000 miles on the clock. It's not twin tanked or anything fancy.
So the first week I got the truck I dived in head first and jumped straight to a 50/50 mix of ktc soya oil and derv. This was mid October time so not freezing but getting abit cold. Result after a 180m round trip including cold starts is: no problem what so ever. Started first turn of the key after the glow plug light had gone out. No noticable difference in power but seemed abit quieter at idle. No sign of engine oil contamination.

As the temperature is dropping down to well below zero now around about minus 3 - 4 morrisons kindly have an offer on of 10 litres of sunflower oil for 10 quid so tried a 50/50 split and again. No problems what so ever even below zero. Wouldn't fancy trying the ktc oil at these temperatures and at that % but rapeseed oil should be ok. Will give it a try if I find some at the right price.

been running a 05 k74 on 100% via a twintank 4 years now, no problems, use svo and wvo, just started adding 5% unleaded to the veg and also adding 2ehn to bring any drop in cetane number back up, aux tanks always had some veg in the diesel but rarely high percentages
