I am planning to get an Autologic power upgrade done on our Freelander 1 TD4, HSE auto. Has anyone done this, and what are your thoughts. I want to have a bit more power, but for better economy. Already fitted silicone hoses, EGR blanked & free flow air filter, just hope It pays for itself over time. Have a long run organised on the day after the upgrade to see how it performs (Up to Inverness). I see Allisport sell a bigger intercooler but is it worth the money.

Ok, no replies or additional info. I went ahead and got the upgrade and found It to be better on hills if not flooring the accelarator, and a very slight improvement in fuel economy on a long run. Otherwise not a big difference as I was hoping for, looks like the Allisport intercooler will be ordered soon to improve economy, power not so important, an extra 10 bhp & some more torques, approx 25 - 30 added with Autologic. (P.S.Its an auto so accelaration is not too bad)

Well that's the Allisport intercooler fitted, fiddly Getting the front bumper off bit East when you know how (Next time) Pleased with end result, deeper engine note, not any Loused and more torque, quicker overtaking, better engine braking even with auto. Waiting to see how economy has improved now, took about 5 1/2 hours to fit as brackets were a bit out and no fitting imstructions, Great alu welding and quality though.

Thanks for sharing this info.
I've no experience of Autologic Power upgrades.
But am a fan of Twisted Performance, Be nice to compare remaps if anyone has a different one.

Not too many Freelanders on here thus the lack of replies but Allisport stuff is very good and you can never have too much power/toque IMO

Yep
Apogolies fur pure spilling abuv !
I can report that even my wife has noticed it sounds different but not in a bad way, and oh, it also reverses quicker !!
Still to use a tank of fuel, and apparently the intercooler by Allisport is only the 3rd full face one he has made.
P.S.Fitted cruise control switches at same time, waiting to plug on Autologic to hopefully enable, took around 1/2 an hour to fit dash & steering wheel switches.
Watch this space.

Well after fitting the switches for cruise control, and various forums (Not Difflock) advising it would work after plugging them it, it doesn't. My mate can't detect cruise control in the ECU with Autologic. looks like I either need to have it re-programmed or buy an ECU that had the option when new if any exist 2nd hand.
Anoyne out there have anything or ideas how to enable.

On that age FL you need a completely different ECU to get cruise control to work, plus lots of other bits.

Tanks for the reply Graham, I have fitted master switch & steering wheel controls, apart from ECU, any idea what else I would need.

You will need all the links to the pedals and gearlinkage, which I think are all electronic.
It has been looked at on another forum, and was found to be prohibitivly expensive.

Thanks for that, even with an auto. I know earlier model Freelander was almost plug and play, also Discovery 2.

Well, to update everyone, on our 54 Plate TD4 Auto Freelander, all the wiring is in place, you just need to fish around under the seat below the carpet to find the plug for the ECU (SCB100211 or SCB100212), either fit, and are plug and play on the auto. Stering wheel wiring also there, just fit switch (Copy stereo volume/seek control cut-out) and fit master switch to lower dash next to reversing sensor on - off switch and It works.
Have now replaced auto gearbox oil, was due at 60k, changed at 62.5 k, was smelly and noticeable difference in gearchanges when cold, much smoother now also, worth doing. (Tip, measure amount drained & refill with same, no set quantity)
If anyone needs part numbers etc I can pass on.
