Hi Guys
So I now have made a trio of landys in my colection By adding a disco mk1 to my rane rover and defender but as is always the case it has some issues all be it small ones in genral it's a tidy truck.but the one thing that has me a bit worreid is the strange ticking noise comming from the injector pump area I don't think it's the vacuum pump or the injectors them selfs but the noise seems to be coming from ether the injetor pump or the air con pump but i just cannot pin point it i've tryed the screw driver trick but still cannot work out where it is.So whats you thoughts? could it be the injector pump and if so can I get it overhulled?
Thanks for your help
Gary

Vacuum pump would be favourite
But it is easy enough to take the belt off the air con pump to prove that
It may be the lift pump also or maybe tappets
I have never heard an injector pump tap but there is always a first time
Good luck

If you can't decide with a screwdriver or lenght of pipe then you could just unbolt the vacuum pump and run the engine up
It will leak a bit of oil but you won't need to run it long to decide
Just don't drive it

doh, i was going to say fuel pump. could just be a load of crap in the top of the fuel pump. take the cap of the top of it. scrape the poo off the top with a screw drive and give it a drive. stops my mates from ticking! It does return but he puts chip SPAM through his....

So just took the top off the injector pump andthe diaphram looks very good but the rubber spacer that is under what I take to be a sensor just fell apart so this could be the problem?.Dose any one know what this part is called and what the part number is?
Thanks
