The head gasket on my jeep is on its way out, I am going to do it over the next couple of weeks when I get the time, looks a relativley simple job but was just wondering if anyone has any hints or tips or know of any problems I might come up against, just so I am forewarned Shocked

its ******* heavy, if its a mk1 cherry, take the small temp sender thingy off the rear of the head, by the inlet manifold, they get broken easy, see Rolling Eyes

cheers it does look like a big heavy lump but then again isnt everything on a jeep? its a 99 facelift model but will keep an eye out for temp sender,

its a 1999 thank god for that, its only loosing about 1/2 a litre every week or so, I had a waterpump issue when I was in france last year and had to drive home almost 700 miles with no functioning pump, so I have a bit of an idea why the gasket has gone Embarassed
it goes to show though how strong these engines are couldnt see many engines surviving what this one has.

check the core plugs too, mind you,
I would change them when the head is off Wink
