Evening All,

My old Vitara that my Mother now uses for yard duties has sprung a leak around the master cylinder...it appears to be seeping out at the bottom of the plastic reservoir....

Anyone got any ideas as to the cause (common?). I assume it is just an old perished rubber between the reservoir and the master cylinder itself....?

Thanks,

Richard

Hopefully, it is just the rubber. I had a reservoir inexplicably split along a moulding line once though.

New rubbers are very expensive if you can get them. You may end up changing the whole master cylinder (It just unbolts off the servo) with a second hand part. (Don't pull the reservoir out, the old rubbers will just leak like yours now)

IF you have a Japanese built Vit this pic might help you with ordering the parts you need, but then again Suzuki seem to vary their parts a lot so no guarantees!

Very Happy

Hi Robert,

How would I know if it fits; any distinguishing features?
Also; how much would you want for it?

Thanks,

Richard

Thanks Duke,

I'll be over at the yard this weekend so will be able to check and see how closely the picture resembles my one:)

I'll be in contact.

Richard

My vit is Spanish and has a rectangular reservoir as opposed to the cylinder in the pic I posted. The Suzuki catalogue I have doesn't seem to list separate grommets for the Spanish type...
