hi
i have now just got rid of my anacondas and am now looking for a new set of tyre's
the anacondas were great off road especially on sand and bogy ground and through ruts.
The down side to these were on side slopes Sad
my standard 90 on 235 75 16 could still get places modified discos on insa special tracks couldn’t Laughing

Idea
What I want is a tyre that is similar if not better than my good ol trusty anacondas but some think different to insa special tracks pattern which is to common for my liking
I have seen recip 3ds which i quite like the look of them has any one got experience of these on here but am open to other tyre suggestions

thanks josh

There is a good reason why Insa Special Tracks have become too common...

They've proved their worth again and again off-road in trials and playing Laughing Laughing Laughing

The tread pattern was around long before Insa copied it and produced their remould but Insa managed to get not only the tread right but the flexibility of the tread right as well - the thing that does make them "special"

maxxis creepy crawlers maybe but you will have to remortgage or make a "withdrawel" from the local postoffice.. at gunpoint..... etc etc

i will stick with my insa turbos... they are solely responsible for cracking my front diff in half.. (of course it was nothing to do with the fact that i was giving it more beans than the heinz factory at the time) and this was on relatively boggy ground.. a testiment to how much grip they do have...

what are these creepy crawlers like on mud and sand i tend to play at yarwell tixover (sand based) and silverdale (mud and trees) and tick hill (mixed quite rocky)

Well if you dont want Insa then there are Fedima Sirocco's.
Same but different!!

But since those that dont want to follow the crowd with Insa's sometimes go for Fedimas,
you will in fact be following a different crowd but its all the same. Embarassed Embarassed
Or going for something different from everyone else, you will be joining that crowd.

Really nobody cares what tyres anyone uses, Value for money and ability is surely more important, or not as the case seems to be here.

Pick a tyre, any tyre maybe.
Ask the sellers what are very good but nobody buys, might be an idea.
http://www.tyresdirectuk.co.uk
among many other tyre suppliers.

As has been said, Insa's are common for a good reason and best of all they're very reasonably priced, being different is good but can be expensive.....would be 'different' to go green laning with road tyres fitted as well as arb's in both axles and crawl through where other vehicles get stuck....but its far more viable to put some widely used and proven mud terrains on and 'follow the crowd' (unless of course you're a CEO of a bank with multi million pound bonus Very Happy )

the creepy crawlers (in their non competition form) are great on mud..

the Maxxis M-8080 Mudzilla, are better.. and come in 31's upward.

if you want something different you could always go for some thornbirds
http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/subpages/superswamer_Bogger.htm
might need a bank loan though.
