I'm actually looking to catalogue the greenlanes in east Sussex with videos.
Might make a small website or YouTube channel.
There is one near Hailsham which is notorious for getting 4x4 stuck, I really want to check it out but I don't have a winch yet.

Found a nice easy greenlane between Argos Hill and Rotherfield today.
Even had a small stream to go through!
One of my favorites so far!
Had a bit of hassel when I turned into the wrong lane, went to someone house before I realised a had made 1 turning too soon, the by-way was only 5m from it!
Took my brother with me who filmed and got some pics which I will upload later.

the ones on pPevensey levels can be a bit sticky if they're wet. I heard of one a few years ago Hailsham or maybe Battle direction that was supposed to be a bit challenging but it got resurfaced.

Not at the moment and not for a while and even then not in my off-roader until I do a lot of work on it

do you know if you can drive up bridle ways??
have been told you cant by dog walkers etc
but whas told by a few foresters that technically a car is a horseless crrage.??

Its listed as a bridleway and so can only be used by pedestrians and horses.
May even be a restriction on horses but i'm not sure.
It is not a Byway so you aren't allowed to drive down it.
I think the foresters are allowed to drive them for access to maintain the bridleways. This usually applies to East Sussex Council workers and the Forestry Commission.
A Byway will be indicated by a Red Arrow pointing down the track, also lookout for any notices of temporary closure or restrictions.
I found a nice Byway near Argos Hill, outside Rotherfield, on the B2101 opposite Sheriff's Lane. Its a bit tight for larger 4x4s, especially between the fences and trees. There is a nice stream you can drive through down the bottom of the track. You finish on Five Ashes Road.

ive been to most in east sussex, but i dont own a land rover anymore so cant come one any, most have been flatned or closed.
the oned up in jevington are ok been stuck a few times in the pouring rain and snow
also near hailsham there is a good green lane, not been for a couple years but it has a river each side of it so when it rains it gets boggy but when it drys out it isnt ruined or anything

I attempted (a couple weeks ago) the hailsham Greenland that follows the river towards herstmoncuex and it was extremely boggy.
I got stuck a few times (quiet badly) and as I don't have difflocks or a winch I decided to abandon the lane ( I was doing during my lunch break ) until it drys up a bit.
It's easy to find from the hailsham end but the other end was blocked by a dumper truck filled with mini-motos and old fridges ( probably a pikey going to flytip)
