I, like a few of us I'm sure, am an avid and intrepid north african desert armchair explorer.

To this end, I couldn't justify buying an uber-expensive 12v air compressor. However, I thought it'd be useful on the Landy and would also save me firing up the big compressor, when on a mobile trailer service, just for the sake of a few tyres. I've trawled flea bay, et al, and eventually plumped for this little jobby that I found on Amazon.

It's a twin piston machine that claims an 85ltr per minute rate and some wild tyre inflating capabilities. I have to admit to having being slightly dubious of it's capacities, due to it's price and doubtless oriental origins.

However, I'm pleased to report that it was tested today and the initial findings are good Very Happy

I deflated one of the Landy tyres (205/80 R16) to 15.5psi and then reinflated it to 46.5 psi (oops, max is 44 - got a bit carried away) in just over 2 minutes. Not bad, I reckon - can anyone give me a comparison?

If anyone's interested I'll post up the invoice details, so you too can revel in much-cheap-air-compressorness!.... Very Happy

Everyone loves pics, so....

Original psi reading

Tyre rating

Psi dropped to

Gauge fairly accurate

This amount of time later...

And there was this amount of psi in the tyre

Gauge spot on

This is the compressor

With it's paraphernalia

And it's natty little carrying bag!

All of the above for £59.99 with free postage. So what do you think, a good buy or not?

That is top'
August bank holiday weekend, I took the crew to Dalby forest, Go ape, In my Iveco 59.12 ex group 4 truck coverted to motor home.

I spotted some soft grass and for some insane reason decided to get stuck, F**k side way slide nearly down an embankment.

Anyway could not shift it, even with x20 helpful barbequers.
In the end got a lift home to get Terrano to pull it out.

I'm sure if I'd let my tyres down the Iveco would have got out.
But alas, no compressor to pump em back up.
Deffo gonna get one of them.

I think that looks pretty good mate! Build quality looks ok from the pics, does it "feel" sturdy enough?

looks to be a bargain tbh!

Happy to report, gents, that nearly 4 months in, it's working fine with no issues Smile

Build quality is actually pretty good and appears to be much the same as other ones outh ther, ust without a 'name' on it.

Have used it on plenty of trailer services and even took it camping on the motorbike. Having been stuck before (being able to change a tube in the field, but not being able to fill it! Rolling Eyes ), I wasn't going to be again.

I ended up buying the heavy duty T-Max one from Island 4x4, they sent me the wrong one to start with, box had wrong part number on it, but collected and replaced the next day, and it was the cheapest price I could find on the net.

Trailer Guy,

That looks pretty good for the cash. Where are they posting em from (I.e. are they likely to deliver here).

I have a small crappy one but it take an age to fill up my 33" BFG's as when in the desert they are down to around 10psi....

I'd be interested.

Hi all

Couldn't see it on Amazon anymore.

However, this is very similar:

http://www.paddockspares.com/pm982-twin-cylinde...lly-60-00gbp.html

And this looks exactly the same:

Hope that helps! All the best, Ben
