And up from England..
Their support base is potentially huge, both clubs are being strangled by the limited TV revenue in Scotland.
If they were given access to the sort of money available to the English Premiership teams by joining the English leagues you would see two teams emerge that could compete with the very best in Europe.
Some of their supporters think they are already
I'd put them at mid to top of the table Championship level at the moment.

I don't think either teams would stand a chance in the EPL. They simply have no competition in the SPL.
Every year they toss a coin to see who's turn it is for the title!

The last Portsmouth home game, someone threw a £1 coin onto the pitch, The administrator wasn't sure if he should press charges against the culprit for throwing a missile or treat it as a take over bid

Thats what I said, I think they would struggle to survive in the Premiership right now but given a few years with the same money coming in as the rest of the premiership they would be right up there.
Remember Celtic and Rangers can regularly attract 60,000 and 50,000 sellout crowds to home games against teams such as mine (Kilmarnock)
Imagine what they could do when playing the top English teams.

Are you trying to suggest that if we broke his finger and cut his tongue out he'd be totally illiterate?

'The Old Firm of Rangers and Celtic miles ahead of the other Scottish teams'.
Celtic FC just beaten in the Scottish Communities League Cup by Kilmarknock FC,
so they fail in the chance to take the treble of titles
& yesterday Rangers FC beaten by Dundee United, so failing to win their 4th or 5th league match in a row.
Not so far ahead of anyone really

To be fair that was Celtic's first defeat in 27 games and they did have a good penalty claim turned down..
But I'm a Killie supporter so who cares!
