Ha you will have to post pics of your "ugly" wiring !! Pmsl
When striping a loom don't cut anything ! Put a lable on everything and even include switches, then strip all insulation and lay the loom out on a board and methodically work your way through it removing bits you don't want and shortening and lengthening to suit. Then use that as a plan to make the new one! That's my system it works for me.
But I'll just be doing the (make the new one bit)

Ugly probably wont go far enough ,yeah thanks for advice, been trying to keep everything intact but it's still a mess!!is that all jig work or do you have an RSJ Chassis??looking at the lower wishbone hub end, would you have gained a little clearance by raising a little,i guess you'd have had to move top up and out giving a long swing and more stress on everything or fit bigger wheels, just thinking, looking forward to seeing how you set up the 5th CV..not sure what pmsl is but a wild guess has me thinking ther must be a fair bang off ya at this stage Rockwatt

Pmsl = p##t my self laughing !
Yes that part of the chassis is an I section (IPE) not (RSJ) it's a special section that's not commercially available. It's only thin wall under 3mm on the web so very light and it will be webbed and boxed so it will be light and strong. And it's only the lower part of a composit backbone.
The lower joint can't go any higher ! As there is one of them silly cv things in the way !!
I spent months working out the suspension geometry and I'm not going to muck it up for 10mm extra ground clearance. The lower wishbones will bow upwards but the pivot points are critical.
Instead of jumping ten steps forward in the build can you just keep watching as all of your questions would have/will be answered as things progress ! Then you will come back and post "I see what you mean now"
3 pages already and I've only made a couple of posts ! It's goin to end up 15 pages of drivel.

It's IPE 100x56 2.9 on the web 3.6 on the flange in u50d grade
It's normally 4.6 and 5.4
When it's complete it will be like box section with internal bracing.

That is tube which has been cased in flat? What advantage are you gaining by doing it that way? Also what is the length of it, I take it it is bigger than a standard wishbone, but how much?

Take a piece of steel 20mmx6mm about 500mm long and bend it over your knee, then take 2 pieces the same but only 3mm thick , weld them together along the length and then bend that over your knee !! And tell me which one needed the most effort ?
Answer = more strengh same weight.
It's about twice the size of an average front wishbone that you would find on say a shogun.
Q's like that would be better in a pm if you don't mind me saying.

I must admit I find tig welding quite therapeutic

A bit of waiting never harmed anyone
Been busy machining parts out ! alloy outer beadlocks , MDPE inner wheel beadlock inserts, bush holders etc
More updates when I do some assembly !

machined some outer beadlocks from alloy plate and blasted them ready for a coat of powder
machined a double changer on the edges to give the tires a bit of relief
next is machine some bits if huge MDPE pipe for the wheel inserts.
Back soon

Ooo that pipe and ally looks familiar... Tis looking good. Could you fit them ally plates in the lathe ok or did you have to machine them on the miller?

The clue is in the pic's ! It's a big lathe that would take 16" diameter.
