finally getting rd to sorting out 24v cab heater.
ended up with a webasto airtop 2000 st in the end.
info on side says
24v/29w
warmestron max 2kw.
have found reasonably priced step up with following info
features :
Input Voltage :10-16V
Output Voltage :24V
Maximum Output Current : 12A
Output Power: 250W
Efficiency: >90%
Quiescent Current: <45mA
will that be sufficient for running unit?

Noooooo...the step up has the output voltage.....doh!
From my understanding....power = voltage x current
therefore? current = power / voltage
current = 29 / 24
= 1.21amps
don't understand the "warmestron max 2kw"?????
if we assume that 2kw is the max current draw, then 2000 / 24 = 83 amps
so that can't be right, I think that the output heat is rated at 2kw, but the input is 29watts.
So your stepup should be plenty.

heat output will be based on the amount of fuel (diesel?) burnt not electricity used.
electricity is only used for fan / ignition / controller, it states 29w at 24v. We have to assume this includes any startup current as we don't have any more info.
P/V=I
29w / 24v = 1.21a
Well within your 12a limit.
Based on information supplied I would be happy.
