Hi all,
I have not used rc models since school. But time and money are turning my actual 90 into a farm tool not a recreational toy. So here we go; I want a scale 90 with proper live axles that behaves lots like my car. Is there a model out there that is fairly.ready to run who would it be made by and what sort of brass will I be into for it?
Cheers. __________________________________ Oh, really? That is a pity.
It depends on how you want to SPAM you're looking for something that's truly scale and all metal bits and bobs then expect to be heading for the 500+ quid mark by the time you've bought a scale chassis, motor ESC batteries, TX gear, Shell, paint and scale bits and bobs
The video shows a model running on an Axial SCX chassis setup - the basic kit is here (the price varies slightly from place to place but not by a huge amount)
Notice how much that SCX10 looks like a defender? You don't have to stick with that shell either you can get a replacement no problem that looks the business (as in the video), for an SCX10 with a shell and acillaries you're probably looking nearer the 350 mark all in. You could go second hand and pick one up for even less but it might end up being a lemon that some kid's been hammering around the garden until they got bored of it.
Here's a pic of a D90 shell I threw onto a chassis that I'd made up of spare bits from around my workshop and it did the trick - depends on how far you want to go with it.
it looks like this underneath:
Here it is following my SCX10 "honcho" model - these things really perform.
Best bet for a ready to run model that's got superb out of the box capabilities and also the capability to be upgraded with as many bits and pieces as you can think of is an SXC10, for that you'd need the basic SCX10 kit - here's one that comes ready to go from modelsport uk

That's about the right money for a brand new truck, but you'll spend more because you'll want a couple of batteries and a decent charger (batteries are ten a penny on the eblah as are chargers if you didn't want to get one from the shop)
Hope this helps mate, I've been into these things for a while now and my interest in them phases in and out but they are incredible considering their size and even more fun if you can go to some of the meets and follow some trails with the lads:
Good luck mate!
Stu
Edit - and yes that is a scale functional winch on the front of my honcho, scale winch challenges are superb fun and possibly one of my favorite things to do with these little trucks!

No problem mate, ms are decent blokes, when you go ask what bits and bobs they have in the back, demand freebies!
Google "ukrcrc" for the best forum on these. __________________________________ He asked me if I'd seen a road with so much dust and sand; And I said, "Listen! I've traveled every road in this here land!"
