well after getting hooked on offroading thanks to a £50 fourtrack and some terratagging events i decided to get myself an sj as the fourtrak kind of died.lol
so i found this sj on difflock and got a lift 110 miles down to st austel to pick it up and it was exactly what i expected tatty looking but fairly solid drove her home not a single problem then off to terratagging the next day all was good a few over heating problems but nothing to bad
so heres the plans at the moment
sort out all wiring as 22 years of water salt and mud has taken its toll on that
clean up the body and repaint in nato green
build an external cage and front and rear bumpers
maybe raise suspension but unsure at the mo.
nothing to major of a build but im abit of a pic whore so a build thread is a good excuse.
only 1 pic for now more on the weekend

well a bit of progress has been made i picked up a cage (saves me making one) set about fitting it and making the back into a pickup. all looks abit half assed at the moment. as i need to panel it all out properly but its costing lots to do all these little things so it may take me a while,
also i have bought some defender rear lights for her which im trying to decide where the best place to mount these is, im thinking somewhere on the cage
stil looooads to do to her but a bit at a time i will get her done.

you might find your lights are too far inboard for a MOT
might be a good idea to check the inner and out sills and all the body mounts to chassis
any rot within 30cm of a load bearing area is a fail tow bar is is now part of MOT now as well not getting at you but seen so many people throw loads of money at off roading gear only for it to fail miserably on the MOT
if you want to put landy lamps on the wings make yourself a little plinth the shape of the wing corner fit that to zuki then fit lamp to plinth
all the best have fun
