Hi. I'm looking for some advice on my new project.
I have a g reg range rover vouge se 3.9 efi manual box. It is not gonna pass its mot and basically is only worth scrap value so I have decided to keep it and turn it into a trailer offroader. I'm gonna bobtail it but would like to keep the same shape. Ie not a pickup/trayback. Any advice on how to go about this project from anyone who has done it would be much appreciated. I would also like to run carbs on it so again any advice on how to convert to carbs would be good. Which ones are best that run at most angles? Is it a case of new carbs, manifold, and fuel pump? What is needed for comp rules?

If you are having to buy carbs new I would recommend the Weber/Edlebrock 500 set up. Around £800 from RPi

If the EFI system is working then I would keep it and just raise the ECU up so it doesn't get drowned. I find the ignition system is far more of a problem near water and even that can withstand quite a lot of splashing if in good order. eg. car stationary and engine running with the fan is half submerged, showering the whole engine bay.
