already in AWE of the wisdom on this forum... I am now looking for ideas on how to improve articulation or upgrade the suspension on the unimog 404 chasis and axle set up.

ok...so i have a different body and engine from an FJ55 toyota on top...and the rig is for more serious play and not a work horse... the front feels really really stiff and gives very little articulation on the stock set up.

on the rear i have long truck shocks and have replaced the stock coils with PRADO springs and drop out cones...

what would anyone recommend / do / has done/ buy / fit / modify....hopefully o n a shoe string.

one suggestion was replacing both front coil and damper with the FOX 2.5 inch shocks. at 400 euro a pop...its an expensive experiment!!!

thanks!!

If you can get it over a weighbridge to get axle weights then you can work out what Fox type set up to go for , the main thing with extending the wheel travel to look out for is binding the uj at the gearbox output so I'd suggest some form of check to restrict axle drop

cheers
