Hi Mate,
I'm doing the same to mine at the moment, except I'm also fitting a Lexus V8 at the same time. To load Pic's get yourself a Photo bucket account, load up your pic's then click on the IMG code, or copy/paste IMG code into your post.

Will try to get some better pic's when its outside Rolling Eyes

Mark.......

Sorry Roofus, you'll have to wait until its done in a few weeks time as the garage is a bit crap to get decent pictures, here's a little teaser I knocked up in MS paint to give an idea of what I'm aiming for...not so much a tray back as an Aussie outback Very Happy

PS I'm glad your going with the wacky colour scheme, it would be a VERY dull world if not for people like you Cool

Mark........

Hi Mr. E

I love the idea of the Aussie outback rear end.

I'm sure it will look cool. Looking forward to the finished job.

It will be a rocket with the Lexus engine and all that weight removed.

Keep up the good work

I'll get some pic's done before its painted so you can see the weld lines, there are no added pieces.
I take it you haven't sussed out how to put pic's on yet, shame, would be good to see how yours is coming along Smile allways good to see how other people do stuff.

Hi Mark, reason i asked about added piece was that i could not see how cab could be made any bigger than i did without having to seperating the roof from frame,to keep the roof lines right the rear section needed to be more vertical than in your pic so i thought you must have added a V piece or something
But i'm confused now,is your cab pic real or photo shop? Confused (i know the tray is ) anyway some pics-hope i've got it right!!!

we removed rear window frame and welded into rear section,as you can see this 70 gets used!!stepped roof section to get corrugations matching
thanks to owner Paudie for permission to post pics etc

Hi,

As stated in post, that picture was made using MS paint, the cab is together now and is about an 3/4" longer than the picture Very Happy some slim tear drop pieces were made to blank what was left of the rear windows. I had a moon roof in mine, so the roof was cut with a large tenon to remove this.
Engine is finally in again (for the last time I hope) its been a real struggle Mad
The cluch and modding the auto bell housing was a real mare Evil or Very Mad

I would not recommend this conversion for the faint hearted, still got lots to do, but thankfully I have some really good friends who are helping me Wink

Mark.....
