Greetings!
I built & broke this......
So that's gone to another home
I then bought this.....
But that didn't work out & went to another home
I thought about buying this......
But this came up.....& I saw the light & bought it!

Between moving house, work etc etc it's going to be disjointed, but the plan is.......
Spool Locker rear, Lock Right front, front winch, suspension lift, respray, roll cage etc etc
Stripped out the carpets etc & used a wee bit of Protectacote to tidy it up!
The centre console was shot.....so whilst, I certainly am not 'Ish' from West Coast Customs, I built my own!
I've no need for the stereo, so I whipped it out & bodged together a panel for the CB & winch controls etc....
Shiney stuff should start going on tuesday......
The truck named itself Jester as I towed it home! I was delighted to have got it, it looked comical on the big trailer & I couldn't stop smiling! & as such I came up with a suitable paint job.....
Now....when I said respray......I meant I'd be doing it! I've never done anything like it before....so I unbolted a few bits to try!
If it stays on in the rain...things will be going well!
So....I'm the proud owner of an LJ71!! I've left the Mitsi forum & come over to the Land of the Toyota!

That poor Toyota. Your raping it of its dignity by going that paint job to it.
Its like a 1960's hippies attempt at making a 4x4 "groovy"

Doubt it'll be groovy Curt.....but it'll hopefully cover the rust!
As for the truck's dignity....everyone's opinion will vary! I, however...like it!
Should get the suspension on it tomorrow & paint thereafter!
The front bumper came with the truck & initially I figured it would get a re-design during the roll cage process. That said....it's growing on me & could well remain a feature! Time will tell

Het Roofus
Nice looking jeep and Auto is the Dogs B.....s for off roading.
I dont want to seem pushy but seen as your LC is Auto. From my experience the complete hand brake cable should be removed and placed in the first skip you can find.
They are well known for getting snagged on roots and branches and locking up the rear brakes which is a pain.
Best of look with the Cruiser (not that you will need it)

Thanks for the tip Mr trayback!! I'll get underneath & have a look see!
What would you suggest as an alternative?? Or just live without?
& yep....all stripped down for the respray!
Have to admit....the front bumper has won me over & will definitely be staying!

if you intend on keeping it street legal mr vosa says you need one where the handbrake leaver is on the back of the hub my choise would be to weld a plate to the under side of the axel covering the gap between the 2 but personaly ive never had a problem

make up a t box handbrake as if you get more flex from your truck the cable is one of the things that will start to hold the axle up and thats not good.
one of these
http://www.wilwood.com/Calipers/CaliperList.aspx?subname=Mech Spot
one of these
http://www.x-eng.co.uk/X-BrakeDef.asp
well just the disc
and make up the brackets to fit and find a cable that fits and you have a disc t box brake
jacks truck needs one now
but i think jack is going to use a cable from a 60 series as they are longer

Roofus as you are going to be towing the jeep to and from the forests and presume you wont be going for a DOE I would just live without it as I have done for last 2 1/2 years and put the gear stick in the park position.

Thanks for that! Won't be road legal! It'll be trailered everywhere & I've no idea who Mr Vosa is!
That's some serious flex Parrot! Are you in the process of making up a t box handbrake??
Putting it in Park may be the way to go! Gotta finish it first & get it back out to play!

thanks, its not my truck its a mates i done the work on,im not in the process of making one but have looked into it afew times for different trucks and in my eye's apart from the cost the hardest part is finding a handbrake cable that will be short enough and work

Nice 70 series!
Im actually looking for one at the mo. 3 years ago I had two 3.0td auto LWB 70 series prado on front/rear lockers. I can't find the same thing anywhere at the mo.
Are the 70 series getting rare? Or people just hanging on to em?

A few come up for sale now & then here in Ireland! I'm no expert on them I'm afraid, so can't really help! This is my first 70series.....can't wait to get out & play!
Now......I've been painting! &, whilst I still have the bonnet & roof to do, I've made some process!
Disclaimer........paint job by Bodgeit & Scarper! If orange peel, excessive use of stickers to hide the dodgy bits, bright colours etc etc offends you....please look away now!
Boy am I bad at painting!

I'm going to be having hand brake issues soon to when I fit my lift kit
I think it's time to look into a tbox hand brake.....
I don't think it will be a issue with a toyota auto but landy autos brake the park lock in the box and then the bits wreck the box, but that's LRs for u I guess

Sorry....excuse my ignorance! Do you mean that just using 'Park' is potentially bad?? I'm not familiar with the term 'park lock' so you kinda lost me at that point!
