got the 3.5:1 diffs out today and cleaned up the axles, swapped the diffs for some 4.7's, got the 3.5's into the series and just doing the front shafts etc the back diff is resting in the coil sprung casing etc, should geet the axles 95% ready tommorow, then on monday i go and pick it up, then the real work starts... Shocked Very Happy Very Happy

well Shocked its alot different in the pics, but not half bad!
decided on rolling the front axles and susp in as a stanadard lr setup (saves making up loads of brackets, and its all there! ) while on the back im going to use the rose jointed arms and cut the front mounts of the chassis and weld them onto the rear axle in the right places
does that sound ok? Question the thing is 2 of the rose joints are f***ed and the lr's mounts etc are solid and it looks like it will pretty much roll straight in... although thaats in theory, in reality it might be quite different! Shocked Laughing so im hopeing to either get the front axle under tommoro or wednesday then the back one under it on wednesday or thursday.. Smile
what shocks would you more knowledgable people think is best? im thinking im just gonna get a pair off an astra, would they be ok? thats what most of the zooki guys use...

went down the scrap yard todaay, picked up a complete hydrostatic steering setup off an old international tractor thats in need of a lick of paint and some new fluid, other than that its working Cool so that gets 1/2 way round the steering colum issue, it wanted to be in the same place as the exhaust manifolds and wasnt going to work.. Laughing
at the same time theres a rangerover bobtail in there, which had a starter motor and and Very Happy a pair of mg v8 manifolds, much smaller than rangerover manifolds, the manifolds also wanted to be in the same space as the chassis...greedy barstewards Laughing
