hi chaps, Ive got a globalsat gps antenna which i'm trying to connect to my old laptop via the 9 pin serial port so i can use it with memory map navigator v 5.
i've loaded the disk that came with it but it still wont recognise the gps saying no device.
anybody else had this trouble? i've tried re-installing it but i cant get it working.

in the MM GP Set Up menu you might like to try selecting in turn all of the ports until it's found, and if no joy, try changing the device type box, and then all the ports again?

thanks chris, tried that till my brain turned to goo. the receiver i had was on a serial connector, i've bought another since on a usb connection to work on another laptop i have, that system worked a treat although i cant try it on the older laptop yet as its running a very slow repair program after having a driver error causing windows to crash... could be that which has caused the trouble or that could've been me messing. i'll get it fixed and give it a go.
