Well......some of it is a 1956 404! The chassis, axles and gearbox are. The cab is a one off we think built for a "Mad Max" style film set, the rear tipper is Transit and the engine 2.5 Tdi Iveco.
It has sort of grown from something that I bought six years ago that was fairly useless - into a multi purpose working vehicle that I would find difficult to do without!

Finally, after much ******* about, our HIAB is attached and operational.

Perhaps we'll find a use for it eventually....

Nice one Jim indeed, I'm sure you'll find any excuse to use it now!
Here are some updated ones of mine.
Since my first photo in here, I have built and added a cosmetic top bar, front bull bar, turbo, rear ground anchor and Werner hydraulic winch, front Werner hydraulic winch.015 Hiab with a clever mount so that it folds flat.Cut and widened the offset of the rims.Upright exhaust stack.Newer front grill and bonnet( never liked the U1000 look!)
Keep 'em coming chaps.

Got to go to make way for a big 4x4 Tractor (or a nice Holder for logging if I can find a good one! I will be getting a nice 411 to replace it, 411 being more the size for around here. If it doesn,t sell I can always just use it on the land as a winch wagon/wood carrier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ll64on3xTw

Thanks minimog, I will bear that in mind, when I start looking and being over here I will be looking at the German Market....all those little beauties at the German Mog meets....must be a few nice ones come up for sale now and then. Bigammer, I,m in Poland, not the nice bit of Poland right by the German border but far off in the east of Poland. Over here because Unimogs are very rare (though there are a few 404,s with the extreme offroad set) and only about 2/3 sell every year, and mine is already registered in Poland. (Still registered in UK as well) I,m asking big money, circa £17,000 and more if I can get it, but if someone said OK I,ll be right over with the dosh and made me a near offer, I would even give them a bed for the night a good meal a couple of beers and send them on their way with some road tyres and those tractor specials thrown in the back. It,s a nice drive from here as well....one motorway all the way to the Tunnell, put a tent in the back for any stops (or sleep across the cab it,s big enough) when you get tired.....we did it in 3 days, but were not hurrying and not pushing it at the red line. The night heater came in handy too. Ask any questions about it you like, It had the oil changed as soon as we got here and the portals, G/Box and diffs checked when we got here, it doesn,t leak oil anywhere enough to leave a drip on the floor, and you,d have a fresh sump of good qual...(Fuchs) oil for the journey home. If I keep it I,m going to 'Bob Tail it, shorten the body, move it back and put a crane in the middle, and a 3 point linkage on the front worked off the 7.5 ton Winch....has that whetted yr appetite, like I said...ask any questions you like, or e.mail me with your thoughts, It,s a straight honest motor, but is in the middle of nowhere...(I know what you are thinking!!!! Now where can I buy a turbo kit??) cooper721@btinternet.com Edit: It already has UK headlamps (set to centre) and I would recommend that model of Superwinch to anyone, dragged this unimog out of sticky clay up to it,s transmission. (It was sitting on the difs and the front Engine under armour) winch just dragged it along and out of the clag, surprised even me!
