I tried it dosed at 0.15% and didn't notice any difference...
I know people who love it, and I've seen a lot of websites heartily reccomending it, and have talked to a guy wo works in a fuels lab who pooh poohed it totally - having never tried it....

Mythbusters looked at some of these home made fuel additives, and didn't get any benefits from Acetone. Not that scientific, but they are usually thorough in their testing methods.

Agree with Nat, I've been using it for the past 3 months at about 0.15% and not noticed anything at all.
Was speaking to a university chemistry doctor who couldn't see what such a small amount could do to the mixture apart from act as a catalyst in the combustion, but was doubtful about even that.
Will persevere until I use it all up and see if things improve.
Cheers
Richard

I believe that acetone reduces the surface tension of the oil and hence allows it to spray better
Not bothered trying it myself

NOT nail varnish remover!!!!!
Anyway, it sounds like PANTS to me - wouldn't risk it, I used to (MANY years ago, work with Acetone daily and I would NEVER put in my fuel system!!!

I have tried in now - and put it in with my veg oil. 0.1/0.15%
It seems to help as an injector cleaner

I'd do one or the other rather than both
don't know why - just my thoughts, if one works doesn't always mean both will be better

I use it in my Peugeot diesel when i run used oil, i tried without the Acetone and performance appeared to drop off then i dosed the oil with it and performance returned.
I pulled the injectors the other day and was surprised to find the tips were reasonably clean.
