My 90 has been standing for a while. I amnow in a position where I need it back on the road. It has been starting ok until the other day when it fired up then died. Now it won't restart. Fuel is getting to the pump but doesn't seem to be coming out to the injectors. I think the solenoid is operating. Any ideas folks????

Fuel is getting to which pump? Lift or injector?
Have you fully bleed the system? Have you changed the fuel filter? Is there any evidence of leaks anywhere?

unscrew the stop selonoid and remove the spring and plunger then retry to start it , just because you can hear a click doesn`t mean its working properly , it means the magnet is .
if or when it starts you`ll need to stall it to get it to stop .

I had a similar problem with my 200 tdi. It started but died as soon as I put any load on it. Did this quite a few times and put it down to the diesel waxing in the cold. It had been a few months since I put any in so it will have been summer diesel. Went to get some diesel but before I put it in I started it and it was fine. Must have just got enough warmth into the engine to cure it. That's the conclusion I came to anyway.

Ok so how am I supposed to remove the solenoid? I can't seem to get a spanner or socket on it from any angle. Is there a trick I'm missing?

That's why el-cheapo spanners exist, you can bend them for special jobs. I've still got a specially bent 13mm for Disco clutch master cylinders in my toolbox.
