Time to fit a push button starter
The standard wiring is like denti floss...
Buy a push button and fit it via a relay.. use a good thickness of cable.. and replace the wire to the starter solenoid
There is a write up somewhere.. In the stickies possibly

It isnt the wiring, as when it was over at my shop I gave it a whack with a hammer, and Had the positive jump lead direct to the solenoid and still no joy. TBH I think it may possibly have crud in the starter, give it a dismantle and clean up.

I did the above a few times. in the end it didnt help. Ended up getting it refurbed and now works like a beaut. My solinoids inside (that you cant get into easily) were corroded.
It could be either the actual starter or ignition. Either way you need to get either one tested/checked over.

I'd take it off, clean it out as much as poss, then try earth jump lead to the housing... then try positive jump lead on the solenoid terminals...
I think one should push the solenoid out, and out should spin the starter...
