Im having a few issues with cold start/idle on my lse, a bit of history first:
Both heads rebuilt with new guides,4 angle cut on the seats, inlet throats cleaned up combution chambers polished. Piston crowns polished, Double s sports exhaust fittted (manifold back) headers wrapped with thermal bandage, K&N filter fitted with forced cold air induction, throttle butterfly polished plenum intake polished Lambda probes removed and tune resistor fitted(Green 470Ohm UK non-cat). It has also had new plugs, cap, rotorarm, stat and thermo time switch and timming set to 8Btdc as in the lr book.
Now to the problem for the first few weeks after the rebuild it ran nicley (all be it juicy) now since the cold snap it starts reluctantly then runs rough unless i give it some throttle after about 3 minutes like that it will idle but tries to stall if i put in gear or on occasion when on full lock and in gear. So does any one have any thoughts on this one??

vac advance, check its sucking and that the pipes not spit,
IIRC they do have a coldstart feature on them, unsure what it is but i'm sure i read somewhere about it,
i'd also check nothings come loose, ie potentiometer, dizzy, oh and did you use a genuine dizzy cap

Fuel mixture could be a bit rich if its worse in the cold and its jucey at the best of times
Pull the plugs and have a look the deposit on the end will tell you a lot
There used to be a colour pic in the front of a haynes manual(bible of lies) the only colour page in fact To help explain hope that helps

Ps don't just pull one
I used to run a boxer carb set up with 4 SU Carbs Sh*t Hot when it was set right but a pain in the ass to set 4 carbs the same
And it would drink petrol like there was a hole in the tank
But fun to boot
