Pretty much what I had in mind, but the problems of making it work reliably with a carby put me off (as much work as an engine swap). It be a easy to be to an injected Niva though I'd think.

...or good results if you interpret it as the SC-ing creating so much grunt it broke the TC.
Seriously though, I'd think the TC should easily cope with an SC-ed Niva motor. I imagine there was either a fault with the TC, or that they indeed did not test it on a 4x4 dyno

I seem to remember reading a french daker team tested the T/C and thought 280hp was the max it could handle
