Pics of a Toyota SC 12 Supercharger, with Mitsubishi Intercooler, professionally installed on a Niva:

"The Supercharger gets activated by a switch whenever extra power is needed, and under normal driving conditions the Lada is as normal as any other Lada on the road !"

Pretty much what I had in mind, but the problems of making it work reliably with a carby put me off (as much work as an engine swap). It be a easy to be to an injected Niva though I'd think.

A final dyno test has been done on the Supercharger mod in South Africa, with disappointing results:

...or good results if you interpret it as the SC-ing creating so much grunt it broke the TC. Smile

Seriously though, I'd think the TC should easily cope with an SC-ed Niva motor. I imagine there was either a fault with the TC, or that they indeed did not test it on a 4x4 dyno Sad
