the standard 404 crawler boxes and PTO use the same space on the gearbox, so you can't have them both. i don't know if the 8 speed conversion stops the use of the output panel where the pto or crawler bolts on.

john hughes,
i dont think they do, the pto bolts to the side of the gearbox and the crawlers to the bottom, if you have a 404 have a look

I have a working PTO and working crawler on my 404. The 8 speed bit is possible with both I think! The problem is what levers you use to operate it all. I think Mike has got all the gears working ( off the main stick and still got a pto stick? Mike?
I am working on extending the PTO stick straight through the shift plate as High / Low and then using a rotary shift stick down the breather hole to engage the PTO - but I havent proved it yet!

Hi folks,
Im 95% sure you can have 8 speed, pto and crawler. I don't have a crawler box, so thats why I can say 100%
I have 8 speed on the main stick, standard pto lever and standard forward reverse lever
Have a look back through the old threads, called '8 speed with pto' I think, more info and pics on there.

yes you can have both
crawler gearset bolts to the bottom of the gearbox the pto bolts to the side the probs come when you go 8 speed the lever for the low/high set of gears is origianly used to operate the pto a few have cobbled a alternative lever ot operate the pto
