Is it a diesel??? If it is you will possibly struggle as most lift kits come from the States who don't have the diesel model as such and so only make lifts for the petrol models.... the rear end will be easy enough but the front uprights are completely different on the diesel cars and so the front kit won't fit....
If it is a petrol give me a call / email / pm as I can do a Rough Country lift kit with pleasure
many thanks
David

Can't do a body lift as there is no seperate cahssis...
Rear springs and shocks are easy but you will need someone to make some front strut spacers to bring the front up level...
I will look to see if any European manufacturers do anything but realistically he might be struggling to buy an off the shelf kit...

Just had a look at a supplier from Germany catalofue and they list a 50mm lift but there is no price for it and no mention of which models it fits which again leads me to think that maybe they don't do one.
I will email him and try and get an answer

Well Thanks for the help, Ive read a fue posts on australian forum sites were a fue people claim to have a lifted their cherokee but no mention to the products name. Still a rear Lift would help carry heavy trailers over uneven terrain, especialy if the springs are stiffer. So this might help him.

Try emailing these people perhaps?
http://k8v.de/eberle/site/jsp/
They have lift kits, but no info as to which engine. Being EU (German) based though, they might have something for the diesels...
Otherwise, try asking on the French 4x4 forums, 70% of vehicles in France are diesel, so that's possibly your best bet for finding something that will fit.

|
|
|
See if you can get hold of the Old Man Emu (OME) it is a Ausie product but pretty much anybody in Aus, South Africa and the US swear by it, it's the real Mckoy, about 30-40mm lift (1.5"). This would probably be sufficient.
ARB are the manufacturers of OME and they also make the Safari Snorkels or an alternative for the Safari is the Airflow Snorkel.
If you want a serious lift, then look at the Frankenlift, that is what I have and it uses the OME as part of the lift, about 60mm (2.5") lift, comes from the States and the guys will ship it for you.
Website for ARB and Safari is http://www.arb.com.au/
Part Numbers:
OME NS131 Heavy Duty Front Struts
OME 790 Front H/D CRD-rated Coil Springs
OME948 Rear Heavy Duty Coil Springs
OME132 Shocks
Safari Snorkel SS1135HF
for the Airflow snorkel check out, this is a sales site and will do international shipping. http://www.snorkels.com.au/p/530938/airflow-sno...8-crd-diesel.html
and for the Frankenlift go to http://www.boulderbars.com/frankenlift_crd.htm.

not too sure about the type of suspension on the kj but if the jeeps a rhd model most of the kits will be for a lhd model and like most have found importing kits from the states 95% of it fits but some brakets like panhard rod brakets/steering componants dont because of the oposite steering
might be worth checking to see if theres any alterations before paying lots for a kit that will need extra work to make it fit

Hi minimog,
In the case of the KJ it is not a problem, the Frankenlift is a US (LHD) kit that uses Australian (RHD) suspension components (OME). In the case of the KJ it is a really easy suspension to modify, shocks and coils are left/right independant. Took a friend and I about 3 hours to install the kit. With IFS up front and trailing arm at the back it is (by more modern standards) very basic. The one thing I am looking at is the replacement upper A-arms from Jeepin by Al.
On some of the US shock components they do a left and right side, with the left being slightly longer than the right, this is to accomodate the driver (go figure) but the Aus products are identical. Read somewhere that somebody ordered the US components for the KJ (Rancho I think) and simply swapped the left and right coilover for his RHD vehicle.

Hi Jason,
No problem, I did forget, if he does go for the Frankenlift, it looks like on some of the models if it catches on the stabiliser bar at the front there are some aftermarket A-Arms which fix this. Although it seems to be a problem on the petrol version more than the diesel. Chek out http://jeepinbyal.com/default.aspx if this is a problem.
Tell your friend good luck with the misses.

I fitted an OME lift kit to my 2003 petrol Jeep Cherokee KJ. The recommended fit is vehicle is as follows:
Front additional load 51 to 100kg (to allow for winch and reinforced bumper) - springs 2927 x 2 £182,90; shocks 90009 x 2 £349.55.
Rear light load - full passenger load with luggage weights up to 150kg (there is an alternative medium load option to cater for a full passenger load with luggage weights varying between 200 to 350kg): - springs - 2947 x 2 £182.90 ; Shocks 60069 x 2 £235.88.
OME estimate the lift with this fit to be 30-40mm at the front and 40mm at the rear but they do note that "Due to varying OE ride heights, some KJ models may only achieve a 20mm lift.". OME also note that "No top mounting bushes are supplied, re-use OE bushes.".

I purchased the rocky road budget 2.5" lift kit direct from the states, they are really helpful , for under £300 incl. what a difference it makes, just check you have good damping & springs on the front for it. it is quite upto the job contrary to all the reviews & more than adequate , I use mine across fields & n Yorkshire moors regular...no problems.
