little idea......

Hi all thought id pick your brains as its easy to grt crazy ideas in your head when your laying awake thinking all night! lol
im thinking of putting a new stereo in my truck, then i got thinking........
could i mount a 7" android tablet in my dash, use a dab usb interface for radio, run my i-tunes or a sililar media player, i could have memory maps running and have the internet dongle for google maps and quick net look-ups ect.
somthing im not sure about is how id hook my car speakers to the android? any ideas? do you think id need some sort of amp?
also can i run dab without connecting to the internet?

can anyone think of any problems? or other ideas???

easiest way is to use an existing head unit with an aux input, but that seems to defeat what your aiming for.

my android phone sits in a powered cradle and connects the above way.

music, video, DAB, satnav, and hands free all through the head unit. Cool

yeah my standard stereo doesnt have aux input which is a pain else i would prob just settle with the ipod, but have to get somthing sorted as i have lost the display on my stereo and cant find any decent tapes anywhere!! smurfs go pop and westlife although great is getting abit annoying now! haha
