hi all ive just got a sportrak and the battery keeps dying, it was ok for a few days after i drove it home but seems to be either draining somewhere or just not holding a charge.

i dont think its the alternator because when i drive it about its ok for the next few days or so, then it dies

anyone got any ideas or common shorts/faults which could lead to this?

pw

HI, my fourtrak used to zap my battery !! tried everything like battery test and cell test , changed regulator but in the end it was the most expensive of all ! needed a fresssssssh alternator but now she pushes a good voltage. The old alternator would just charge enough to keep her going for a few days but when the lights and heated windows were on it slowly zapped the battery. Hope this helps from boxhead.
