Any suggestions where to source oil for the bw1339 transfer case fitted to early jeep quadratracs? Seen it referred to as TCL-1. Wondered if the difflock LSD oil would be similar?

Hi,
Blimey, you don’t make it easy do you!
If you can get hold of Crown TCL-1 Fluid (probably unlikely in the UK) it is a good choice.
If not then you need to brew up your own lube blend that is as close as dammit to the original spec.
Here’s the recipe:
One 118ml bottle of Redline LSD Friction Modifier/Break-in Additive
2 Litres of SAE 30 Monograde NON Detergent (must be non detergent so check very careful when buying) engine oil such as Millers Millerol M30 (this is an ideal non detergent grade)
(Both the above are available from UK stockists - just Google the names)
Thoroughly mix the LSD Friction Modifier with about 1.5 Litres of the monograde non detergent engine oil.
Drain down the transfer case and refill with the mixture of modifier/engine oil.
Use the remaining engine oil to top up the transfer box (it will thoroughly mix in when the box is in use).
Here’s a link to the original manual for the box giving servicing instructions:

BTW our Racing Spec LSD lube is not suitable for the BW1339 unit.
Best Regards
Peter
