Firstly a little introduction. As many of you know I usually post as Paul McCleary, but Simon has asked that any work based posts are done under my Macsport4x4 name.
Some of you may rememmber that quite some time ago I started a little SJ 410 project for my wife Sara to play in. I started the project with enthusiasm, but as we got mega busy in work and the remaining metal on the 410 vapourised if I so much as plugged the MIG in, I grew irritated with it and shoved it into a corner of the workshop. Having got in the way for sooo long, the time came to do something with it, so I did, I scrapped it!
This is where we were up to when I threw my teddy in the corner.
Enter my bestest of friends, Andy B.
Andy had been offered a little zuk for spares for not much money. When he viewed it, he realised it was quite tidy and far too good to scrap. As he already has two Zuks and being the all round star that he is, he purchased the car and gave it to me so we could finally do a little Zuk project for Sara.
So the question is, will the OP deliver a little Zuk or not? Only time will tell!
Oh, I almost forgot, Sara doesn't know we are building it for her, so with any luck, it should be a nice surprise for her.
I'll introduce the car and our plans and Andy and I will update the thread as we get stuff done.
Paul.

First off, here are a few pics of the car as we collected it.
As is custom with any of our projects, we got it back to work, ripped some bits off it and let Andy play in it.
Here are a few close up's showing that the inner wings and inner rear arches are in very good condition.

The floor needs a few patches and the outer sills are a bit sad due to having the dreaded plastic covers on them.
We chipped the underseal off and gave the car a steam clean so we could see all the bad points.
The heater grille was full of leaves so it was out with the dash to clean it.
While the dash is out, I'll update the fusebox and add so extra lighting looms etc.
Paul.

Having umm'd and ahh'd over what spec to build the car to, we decided to keep it all simple and avoid anything too 'Special' as it would only complicate the build and lengthen the time it take to complete. Plus, Sara is a complete off road novice and 46" Coilovers and supercharged V8's would be a waste. With that in mind, we had a route round all our spares and decided to do a similar conversion to Andy's Sammi, but with a heavier axles. His car works really well and is simple to repair and maintain.
Some shots of the bit's.
Parts we plan to fit are as follows.
Toyota Landcruiser Prado 4.88 front and rear axles,
Jeep Wrangler YJ Springs,
33x14.00x15 TSL Boggers (32"tallx 13"wide)
Procomp Shocks,
Konig seats,
Very yellow beadlocks (Thanks Tris),
10x15 wheels, yet to be purchased as the one in the pic is a landy rim,
Jeep wrangler TJ arches,
Rollcage,
Truck cab conversion,
Fuel Tank in boot,
Anti Wrap bar,
Extreme Terrain Winch (Cheers Pete Scott),
As with all builds, the spec changes daily, but the above mods are on the FIRM list.
Paul.

Very nice powder coating mate, very nice. Zuk is sadly not fuel injection, so I'll probably throw an SU at it.
Mooching through some radiators today and spotted this little number.
Originally from a BMW, the rear of the cowling has a vacum operated louvre blind. With a little trimming and a modifcation to the actuating lever to accept a cable, it can sit in front of the Zuk radiator and serve as a wading blind, to keep all the usual debris out of the rad when entering water.
