Hey all,
Not been on here in aaaaaages but I know I will get the help from you hardcore Landy fans!
I've got a V8 90... mid 1980s, with a 4 speed manual gearbox that came out a range rover classic.
My question is, will a 5 speed manual gearbox fit with the same mounting holes in the chassis, and will the props be the right length?!
Thanks in advance for your help
Graham

I read auto by mistake So I have erased my scriblings
But from what I have heard; It needs to be the longer bell housing unit from a rangy?

I'm not sure 100% but I think not. I think the distance from the holes in the chassis which are the same and the rear face of the drum is 2" different between the 'boxes. I think the LT230 will need the rear prop shortened by 2" but I'm sure this will also be a standard part. Are you looking at LT85 or R380? You might have better luck to look at discovery bell housings and defender 'boxes.
Keep us posted!
