Hi,

I have a defender 90 that I'd like to use at Potarch on the 20th. How will I fair with AT tyres rather than mud tyres? It has locking diffs front and back so that will help. (no winch tho)

I've just recently re-joined the club and haven't done any event's yet this year. I did one orentiering event at Potrach a couple of years back in a disco with Insa Turbo Sahara's, it was in the winter months and I remember it being slippy.

Any advise would be appreciated, I'd rather not rush into buying a set of mud tyres just to make the 20th.

Thanks
Malcolm

Malcolm,

Provided your AT's aren't badly worn then they should be fine especially if its a dry day. Potarch is a big site and with a large number of punches to choose from you can choose your own route and if something looks too slippy then you can skip it and go to the next punch.
There's always the fall back option of using one of your 3 recovery jokers if you do get stuck and need help Laughing

Ken,

Thanks for the reply. Sounds good!

What do I need for scrutineering? Fire ext. first aid kit, tow strop, front and rear tow points, anything else?

Thanks
Malcolm
