P38 Questions for Dennis

A while ago i asked Dennis for help with my P38 emisions
ive lost the original test results so had it rechecked today and here are the results from today
Fast idle test
CO Max 0.30% 2.36% FAIL
HC Max 200ppm 86ppm PASS
Lambda 0.97-1.03 0.93 FAIL


Second fast idle test
CO Max 0.30% 2.24% FAIL
HC Max 200ppm 66ppm PASS
Lambda 0.97-1.03 0.94 FAIL


Natural idle test
CO Max 0.50% 0.48% PASS

So basicaly its a fail any ideas what it could be as ive changed the plugs and filters and oil
seems to go fine doesnt smoke and pulls ok

The next issue is the imobiliser cut in today and the dash said to press the remote did this but still didnt start
put new batterys in the remote still no go
the remote doesnt unlock or lock the car unless you are very close and then its only sometimes
managed after 1 hour of pressing the button and messing with the key to get it started.
do you have any ideas what it could be? is it the key or the sensor in the car maybe?

PS i love driving my P38 and wouldnt go back to a RRClassic or a rotten Disco as MAD as that may be

Dennis thanks for your replies i need to borrow a scanner off my local garage, hopefully i can do that next week i will ask them on monday.
Will pick your brains again when ive got it if thats ok.


As for the imobiliser when i got the car it was an insurance write off bought direct as salvage smacked in the drivers side rear, the quarter window was smashed and the one i put in had the tabs for the cables broken (that explains what they were for) hopefully if i can repair them all will be fine.
