I dont know what calipers the td5 uses but the late 200tdi and I assume the 300tdi uses the larger 110 calipers as standard. If they only have the small calipers then is just a case of getting new calipers and pads.

Discs and pads from EBC, I would rather walk personally, Greens are underpowered and take ages to get warm and good, Reds are a waste of space, Yellows just get stuck on your discs and create bounce.
Discs that fracture and crack I would steer well clear of the grooved and dimpled discs personally, I had a set that fractured and could of potentially fell to bits or collapsed, good job I checked them.
From someone who has run a high performance car for a long time and been through several sets of discs and pads, I tried EBC once, I will never ever put them on any of my cars ever again, over rated.
I personally would go with a good set of plain discs without drilled holes or dimples as these become stress points and fracture, grooved are fine though.
I am personally going to go for the following set up on my Land Rover when I have the cash
Plain discs good quality ones
Carbotech brake pads
Goodridge braided flexis
Superblue ATE Race fluid brake fluid
Carbotech pads, they dont stock them for Land Rovers, but they can make you a set I think it was around the £100 mark, but my god do they stop you, they bite from cold and will put you through the windscreen, I almost did in my Mitsi, I would go for the AX6, unless you want serious stopping power, I had the XP8's they are more track pads, but I used the brakes hard.
http://www.carbotech-europe.com/applications.htm
Goodridge hoses, if you want longer ones due to a lift kit, I am sure they could make them up for you
http://www.goodridge.co.uk/car-brake-lines/land-rover.htm
Discs, by the looks of it, they might have to be EBC, I wouldn't use them personally, but that would be up to you
ATE superblue, yes its £20 a tin, (£8 more than what I paid for it last 4 years ago) but it doesn't boil, and is rated DOT 5 and excellent on track, I set my Red stuff pads on fire once yet didn't boil the fluid, truly excellent stuff
http://www.performanceoilsltd.co.uk/brake_fluid.html
Whilst your at it, you might aswell replace all the copper pipes, instead of wasting loads of the ATE fluid pumping out the old crap, just put new lines on and bleed the whole system.
On another point I would definitely go for Carbotech AX6 over the XP8, as the XP8 requires "track bedding in" ie on a race track of course, you must get your Land Rover in this case to 100mph several times, the procedure was
100-70mph x2
100-50mph x2
100-30mph x2
100-dead stop x2

cheers pits, now thats what i call a post, all the info and then some,i have been hunting around for performance discs for defenders and they are thin on the ground and google keeps popping up EBC.i think the best thing might be just to chuck a ruddie great big anchor out of the back door

You can get discs made up, I will have a look as I can't remember who did them now, but here are my reasons on EBC Turbo Grooves, nothing I could do about them as I didn't fit them or pay for them, the paint is just to highlight the areas
Fracture that ran down the other side into the vents
Just about make out the crack here
Like I say, I won't touch them ever again.
Even go sideways
I know alot of people use EBC stuff to great effect, and I know alot of people hold them in high regard, but after removing the above set of discs from my car, you can understand my feelings on putting EBC stuff on my cars, not saying this will happen to what you buy, I imagine it won't to be fair, just slightly sour taste in my mouth.
If you wish to try EBC, try them as that is all that seems to be out there for the landy, I would personally try the cheaper plain standard discs first, over anything dimpled or drilled as they can crack and fracture

fxxxxxg hell your not joking there proper cracks !!! a good few years ago i remember speaking to an old hand about discs on my old lotus he said stick to lotus own discs his reason for this is that you need a disc to wear so that it never glazes over and wears even, know he told me that about 10 years ago and guess what i have never had a problem.so the plan is to put 110 standard vented discs(mine is running solid)and calipers a good set of pads and good fluid,i have already got braided hoses,so hope fully that should sort.thanks again pits for all your help

Yep, like I say the best to go for is a flat face discs, if you can put vented on that will help keeping them slightly cooler, but I would consider the Carbotech pads over anything else, as they can make you what you want.

Just after another post now to join the club now I've seen pits photos it saves me posting any. We had the same problems with a lotus elise and a Westfield. Forget EBC pads because they don't work when cold as good as genuine factory originals. There is a time and a place for genuine parts and I reckon brakes is one of them.
The allowable gross combination mass of a defender 110 pulling up in an emergency stop is dissipating way more energy safely than your 90 at any speed a tuned Td5's gonna make it SPAM you're determined to burn some cash then maybe better tyres might be the way forwards?

I will disagree with you slightly there, discs, yes, pads, no.
I drive my 90 sometimes in a spirited fashion, however I have an issue that I boil the brake fluid and set the pads on fire, better fluid and pads, and good brake lines will always beat factory, but discs, not much out there that are better than standards, unless you are going the carbon ceramic route, and lets face it £20k brakes, on a landy?
Glad someone else has had issues with EBC stuff, and you are right, the EBC pads just don't work at all when cold, the thing is though a few times you will just forget, drive off when cold, come to slow down, and not alot happens, then panic sets in.
