|

Hi Folks,
was just starting to look at the feasiblity of importing a secondhand Zook from Japan in to Cyprus where I now live as the prices here are stoopid.
Will you look at the linky and tell me if this is Coshe? A turbo Jimny?

Yes - its kosher (or sushi!)
Its a Japanese one, hence its a turbo but only a 600cc engine
This is to get around some sort of Japanese taxation class. There are a lot of 600cc vehicles, all tuned to death to get the performace up. At a guess not a good off-roader as the engine only generates the power when its screaming at revs.
Availability of parts for the engine in Europe may be an issue.
Martin

I also notice its done 100,000 kms - thats a lot for a Japanese car and a 600cc screaming engine.
Its only 64hp, the 1300cc Europe spec ones are between 78 and 82 hp depending on year. The Jimny is a surpisingly heavy car for its size.

Yeah I spotted the cc and felt that 10000km mileage was a bit too round a figure?
Not great on Jimny's but it mentions a rigid axle near the top of the page...... is this normal?
Sorry if the above is a daft question

didn't know someone was doing this on Ebay - sure they buy all the cars from UK (s/h) as the euro is so good against the Pound.
Europe would be LHD - I would love a diesel one though!!!

Cyprus is RHD and the Common rail K9K diesel Jimny is supposed to be a very nice little motor.

Just one other word of warning,
some of the japanese Jimny's are not 4x4 i have a 07 model and in my handbook
it has the SPAM in the back for the 2wd Jimny.
I'm not sure how common they are and also know nothing of them
but as far as i can see they are out there!!!

Its the same engine fitted to the Suzuki Cappuchino, and some of their snowmobiles i think. its a well proven engine, spares shouldn't really be an issue - power might be but theres no point in being in a rush al the time, Enjoy the scenery.
