Does the 200tdi disco engine fit straight into a 1986. Turbo diesel 90 With a lt77box? If not what needs modded to fit it Question

engine mounts are the same, gearbox will fit but you will ither have to fit the turbo and exhaust manifold from the defender 200tdi or get a special exhaust made up.

You will have to swap the flywheel housing off the TD onto the 200Tdi to get it to fit the gearbox.

You will also need to lower the radiator mounts if you are using the Disco rad. If the TD is one with an oil cooler integrated into the rad then you will need to keep the oil cooler hose and use these on the Tdi engine. IIRC you will need the coupling off the TD filter housing to mate the hoses to the Tdi.

Finally use the TD air box as that is easier than using the Disco filter housing.

You don't have to swap manifolds, it will squeeze into a 90 chassis ok, but you will have to make up a new piece of exhaust to mate the turbo/manifold to the old TD exhaust system.

Thats all I can think off of the top of my head at the moment.

Braw stuff cheers folks the exhaust winnae be a problem as I make up and modify exhausts for most of the car dicks in the town the rest sounds a doddle cheers abody Very Happy
