Hi Lee

No not really a rockcrawler, more a 4x4 racer. I'll post the CAD pic soon. Looking forward to chasing your machine.

Mark

You can kinda see in the video and the pics how capable it is.. but as you said at the time Baloo.. the photos and videos dont do it justice..

The ground was so hard and smooth due to the ice its a wonder it got any grip at all.. yet it still went over anything you pointed it at..

Shocked

hi Rick
l will see what l have in the way of close ups, but if you want to have a look at it l will ask Mark, we could probally go to his one saturday morning,

l want to biuld one as well but l want a 2 seater and the transverse engine turned through 90* dosent lend its self to that too well, l am still playing around with suzuki bits in the garage but l think l have a plan, be nice if there was half a dozen people who wanted to biuld one the same then we could post the plans/drawings and the dxf files for the lazer cutters etc,

Andy

Its funny.. when you first look at it.. you think.. oh thats just a pair of SJ axles, a body tub and four air shocks..

But the more you look, the more you discover..

Its a real masterpeice of engineering.. the axle being widened.. shaft made.. caliper mounts built.. steering adapted..

All of it working in perfect harmony...

Its a very clever build.. a lot of thought and man hours gone into what is a very capable machine..

That thing is awesom !

What are you using for the Hydrosteer? I need to sort mine out soon for the front and rear steering on my project, but PSC kits are $1300 +Shipping and trail toughs are $1100 + shipping, which seems abit steep for a pump and a hydraulic ram!

Rich

Hi Rich

I bought a Raufoss orbital valve of a Canadian garden tractor on eBay for £70. 3.5 turns lock to lock, 1/4"BSP hose connections. As these go this one is tiny. It says Made in Poland but it came from the US.

I have used the standard Citroen hydraulic pump (presumeably high capacity as it is used for suspension, brakes and steering on the donor car).

I then bought 2 new general purpose rams off eBay for about £45 each. I machined the end off one and made a 2 way out off the 2. (They must exist but I couldn't find one this small). I used a reservoir off a Skoda.

Hoses cost £30 ... so all told, £200 about did it. Pics to follow

Thatsounds much more like it Smile

How do you rate it? Im going to be turning 37" rubber with mine , and its got rear wheel steer, so i think im oing to have to go for a bigger pump so i can run front and rear rams at the same time, so i need some pretty beefy kit!

Rich
