Hi, others might comment on the lift kit,
I would advise that you give the Blue springs a miss tho.

You dont say what powers your 90?
Or the type of tyres, are they Mud tyres?
Or what weight you are going to be towing, are you going to use a drop plate to match the trailer hitch?

I imagine you are going to be very disapointed with the gearing that results from fitting 35" tyres.
It wouldnt be my choice of tyre size for on road towing of any great weight.

pro-comp shocks are good, and have a lifetime warranty.

The bearmach springs are far too stiff for offroad and you end up bouncing around a lot. They're ok when they are used for a bit and have a bit of give; but then you don't have the 2" any more!!!

However, if towing they will keep some stability what with having the 2" lift.

As George said, I have 33s and find towing a bit of a chore. With 35s, your gearing will be totally shot unless you change Xfer boxes etc

to be honest after towing lwb trooper ( which head had blown) and 3.5 ton lgv ( some tight git forgot to refill the tank iearlier in the nite) on the road seems fine to me apart from steep hill start offs

but it does put extra wear and tear on the drivetrain

David, the reason i asked what engine he will tow with.

I have 275+BHP & an auto,
& 32" tyres are right for me with around 3 tonnes on.
35" would be a no no for my motor.

265/75's arent much over 30 inches 31 max so your 35's are going to be a big step up, you may have to consider using the low box to pull off with your tdi if your going to be towing heavy loads.

wot /\/\/\ said

mine copes quite happily with 2tonne on the trailer. Ok, got a bit of stick stirring to do on hills and it wont pull as fast as a nice tdv8 rangie... but what do you expect?

I think thats the thing - expectation.
if you are happy with slow and steady and let it plod along then you will be fine (although i do think 35" on standard xfer box will irritate you and be bad idea)

don't forget most manufacturers do offroad and heavy duty spring rates depending what your using it for the most. It's a compromise.

I've had the same set of Procomps on the lightweight for the past 5 or 6 years with no problem.

the reason people snap or break pro comps is usualy down to not fitting them properly.

because there cheap they tend to be a brand that every idiot goes for, they get longer travel shocks and +2 droppers or whatever but dont extend their bump stops so at articulation they bottom out and break.

the more expensive brands dont break so often because the people who tend to buy them actualy know what they are doing through experience or listening to people who know what there going on about.

procomp offer a lifetime waranty on all faulty products, and they do honour it.

I thought the ES9000's had internal bump stops Confused I removed the bump stops and check straps from my lightweight to get extra articulation.

IIRC the internal bumstop on the es9000 is only for extension. The procomp damper failures I have seen though did not appear to be due to over extension or compression. The common factor with all of them was stiff polyurethane bushes clamped up tight, which resisted the rotation of the joint too much causing excessive bending stresses around the welds. The es9000s on one of my range rovers never gave me any trouble and they were regularly at full extension as they were standard length and used with lift springs.

i reused the standard rubber shock bushes for that very reason when i fitted procomp es9000 to my 90 6 years ago.
Not broken a single shock and they still work ok.

The internal bumpstop is extension only. If you over compress them - eg fully closed - you will damage them. I dont know of any normal oil or gas shock that has a compression bumpstop built in. thats why your motor has bumpstops and people upgrade to hydraulic bumps.....

All Pro Comp failures I have seen are due to incorrect fitting.

Terrafirma are a cheap version of OME; not that that is a bad thing, but I'd personally go OME over Terrafirma.
