I am in the early stages of planning a worldwide expedition in a unimog based camper (probably based on a U1300 or U2150 chassis). I'd like to hear recommendations or otherwise of builders of camper units that would be suitable for mounting on a mog. Any advice would be gratefully received at this stage as I'm fairly new to this type of vehicle. Thanks

I had a good look on that site already. I was looking for personal recommendations from anyone who has done this sort of thing before.

Sure, and that site lists people who have created, used and abused Mog campers over many miles.I thought you might find it an easy way to get in touch.

We used Profab near Birmingham. 01564 703976
They're a family firm and proper engineers. We went to them with a bit of a concept for a raising roof on our 101 and they built it for us, complete one off.
Their bread and butter is demountable camper bodies, so they should be able to give you some ideas. They're not cheep though.

They specialise in the highest quality demountables, based on their unique, patented, fully welded, extruded aluminium chassis and framework.
The conversion features a self aligning and self centering roll on, roll off facility which enables mounting and demounting to be carried out in just a few minutes with the minimum of fuss. Wildmoor demountables can be designed and built to individual customer requirements."

Our camper body is just ready for it's first fitting - we've had it built by Coate Campers in Wiltshire - you can Google them - ask for Keith. We've had the body alone built, I'll be doing the fitting out, but they'll do a full fit if that's what you want.
