Drain pipe snorkels rule! did you run it through the air filter first?? a few people put theirs straight to the turbo with disastrous consequences!!

sealed the air box with a ton of silicone and used the original rubber tube from air box into wing mounting plus couple jubilee clips, i get some more pics of inside and post up. tested lastnite in river but need to wait for big rain so river gets deeper!

to check its properly airtight, with the engine running cover the top of the snorkel and the engine will stop cos no air getting to it .
(ive never tested mine this way as i dont see how its good for the engine )

that sounds scary i give it a try but not let the engine die. think it should be ok though, used silicone on every joint and sealed every hole i could find.

just tried this method, didnt have the heart to kill the engine, me hand got sucked down onto tube pretty smartish and i couldnt hear any squealing or screatching so im guessing all is well sealed, all the rubber hoses got sucked in to near nothing so id say im happy with it cheers for the idea though mate.

Blocking off the air intake with your hand is std practice to check for air leaks in the intake system

Quick question for you guys who've fitted these DIY... How are you securing the pipe to the A pillar?

i chose to use sticky cable tie pads with screws into the a pillar, (purely because thats all i had available at the time but also gives it a bit of flexibility aswell) many ways of doing it though, most commonly used i think is using a piece of metal rivetted to the tube and the a pillar.
hope that helps mate.

I pulled out the side strip off the windscreen and put in tappers. The whole thing was screwed in tight to the pillar.
