yes.
def- disco youll loose the w wire
disco to def you ll gain a w wire.
and can fit a tacho is you so desire.

cool
my alternator is dead pretty sure anyway, my dash voltmeter is only showing the 12V from the battery when even when engine running.

Would it not be wise to upgrade the battery cable back to the starter motor? (depending on what size is already fitted)

No joy just picked up alternator from motor factors its not right width of mounting points is narrower. Now there shut and im stranded!

my alternator is a 3 point mounting does thsi denote it is actually a 45amp? if this is the case can i still upgrade to 100amp?

the inner sleeves are adjustable.
i had to widen a defender mounted one to fit on the disco.

four holes = a V8 one this wont fit
amr 4247
amr 4248 is a 100 amp disco one which bolts straight on.
as James suggests upgrade the feed wire.

Yes, leave original in place and simply double up with another one along side it.

acording to info i have YLE10113 is a 100A denso/magneti 300tdi disco altenator so it should fit okay.
